I have the honor of being asked again to Co-facilitate the Nursing & Allied Health Program at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in San Francisco on February 9-10, 2012. The AAOS meetings are held from February 7-11, 2012.
If you can come out early, you can participate in the annual building of the safe accessible playground. This happens on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Buses leave from the Moscone Center from 7:30am - 3:00pm and lunch is provided. This event is always a lot of fun and it's great to see Physicians, Nurses and Industry Partners, plus community volunteers join in.
There are four nursing courses being offered. The registration fee per course is $105.00 if you register by December 27, 2011. AAOS charges a registration fee of $150.00 if registered by December 27,2011. If you wait until after this date, the price for each nursing courses is $130.00 and the AAOS registration is $250.00. The AAOS registration fee allows you to go to the exhibit hall and any non-instructional AAOS talk (unlimited). So, plan ahead and register early. If you have not received a registration brochure in the mail, you can go on NAON's Web site (www.orthonurse.org) to view the entire program and register at the same time or you can call 1-800-289-NAON (6266).
The planned courses span a wide variety of topics. Topics and speakers that you will find interesting and informative have been chosen for your enjoyment. There are also two casting and splinting skills workshops offered for $150.00 per course. After December 27, 2011, the registration fee for the workshops will be $200.00.
If you go to all four nursing courses, you will earn 16 nursing contact hours (for the people who live in states that require them for licensure or recertification.)
Come and meet colleagues from across the U.S. and around the world to exchange ideas. The Nursing Programs will be held in the Moscone Center West, Room 3005/3007. Complimentary coffee will be available from 6:45-7:30 on February 9-10, 2012. Please plan on attending.
