ONCB® Connection

LearningBuilder is live!

ONCB launched the new LearningBuilder program in mid-November 2011 to assist certificants with online continuing education maintenance, recertification application submission, and audits.  Establishing a LearningBuilder account is FREE for all certificants.  You can even upload certificates to maintain a complete record for recertification and make the audit process easier. Access LearningBuilder through the link on the ONCB web site, or use the web address below:

https://oncb.learningbuilder.com

It’s easy to set up your account and begin maintaining a log of your CE activities.

A letter describing use of LearningBuilder to maintain CE records was sent to all certificants in December; please contact the ONCB office if you did not receive one (888-561-6622).

Applications mailed for 2013 recertifiers

Applications for all credential holders recertifying in 2012 were mailed in early January.  If you have not received your application, contact the ONCB® office as soon as possible to be sure a current address is in the data base.

Quarterly testing continues in 2012

In 2012, ONCB will again offer the flexibility of a quarterly computerized examination schedule nationwide.

Electronic applications can be submitted through the Web site of the ONCB test vendor Applied Measurement Professionals (www.goamp.com).  A Candidate Handbook also is available online for nurses who prefer to use a paper application.  All applications must be received by AMP by the last day of the application month; no late application option is available.  After applications are processed, candidates will be notified by AMP with instructions for scheduling their exam dates

Certification expired in 2010 or 2011?

You are eligible to use the reactivation option to regain your ONC® if the credential expires less than 2 years ago!  With payment of a fee equal to the current exam fee ($275 NAON members, $390 non-members), you can submit evidence of 20 contact hours earned for each year or part of a year for which your credential had expired.  You also must submit a brief statement about professional development activities planned for the next 5 years.  The application and policy are available on the ONCB web site (www.oncb.org – “ Forms”).  Questions?  Call ONCB (888-561-6622).

ONCB recognizes units with 50% and 100% ONC®s

Is your unit 50% orthopaedic-certified?  100%?  ONCB will be pleased to provide a certificate of recognition for any practice areas that have achieved this goal.  Contact the board via email (oncb@oncb.org) or phone (888-561-6622) to share information about this milestone and request your certificate.
