Since You Asked…

I received a letter that says the Congress 2012 Brochures will not be mailed out as in past years. What’s going on?

NAON is doing its part to reduce its environmental footprint, so you will not receive a paper registration brochure in the mail this year.  We estimate many registration brochures end up in a landfill somewhere and it is responsible that we each do our part. In addition to being “green,” this move will save NAON an estimated $30,000 in expenses! That is money we can use for member benefits.

When you are ready to register, simply follow the directions to do so online. You can download and print the brochure if you wish, and the entire brochure will appear in the Jan/Feb issue of the Orthopaedic Nursing Journal.

Please provide feedback to us on this change!

I saw an advertisement on our website for a Senior Coordinator of Programs. Was the position ever filled?

Yes, it was. Several very qualified applicants sent in their resumes for the position. We interviewed some of these to help make the final decision, and offered the position to Beth Schafer from Minnesota. Please be on the look out for an article introducing her to you, the members.

We welcome Beth to the NAON team!

I heard there was a change in the NAON staff at the National office. Who’s come and gone?

You heard right! We welcome Kim Eskew back to the NAON team! Some of you will remember Kim from her last time on the team, but may have known her as Kim Hazelmyer then. She’s married and the proud mom of a little girl. Kim joins us now as the NAON Operations Manager.

We say a sad good bye to Christina Tomaso. Christina was our Operations Manager for 3 years. She has left SmithBucklin to pursue other interests and we wish her all the best in her new endeavors.
