Angel Flight has been able to provide their services thanks to the generous support of donors and volunteers. Private pilots donate their time, planes, fuel, and resources to provide free air transportation for passengers. Ground volunteers, including Mission Coordinators and "Earth Angels," set up and coordinate flights, provide ground transportation to and from the airport, and run the daily operation.
Since its inception in May 1996, Angel Flight Northeast has flown over 38,000 missions equal to over 8 million miles, all with a mission to serve those in need.
Angel Flight Northeast also is a vital mode of transportation for organs, blood and for patients awaiting organ transplants.

Each individual member organization has its own full-time staff and autonomous Board of Directors. While most policies and procedures are commonly shared by each of the members, there are a few unique qualities within each due to geographic location, populations served, and regional cultural aspects. However, the mission and purpose of all members is focused on "giving hope wings" to children and adults in need by leveraging aviation resources.
The pilots who fly for Air Charity NetworkTM members are caring, compassionate individuals from all walks of life and professions. All pilots must meet experience requirements, Federal Aviation Administration proficiency requirements, have a current medical certificate and maintain aircraft liability insurance.
The pilots generously donate their time and the entire expense of their missions, including fuel costs, any landing fees and the standard operational maintenance costs of the aircraft.
