CAT Corner

The NAON Chapter Advisory Team (CAT) is charged with recommending methods to strengthen and promote chapter growth, assessing chapter viability, and facilitating new chapters to form or weak chapters to fold. The CAT serves as a resource to the Chapter Presidents and maintains contact with chapters at least bi-annually. In addition, we help to identify members with leadership potential, and encourage completion of the Willingness to Serve Form to be a part of the CAT and a future NAON leader.

How to make your CAT purrrrr…..

1. Watch for e-mail correspondence from your CAT and respond in a timely manner. Several times a year the CAT uses the updates you provide to the Executive Board. We want to know how your Chapter is doing. We have a monthly teleconference where we also discuss challenges and good things that are happening to the chapters we are assigned to in our region.

2. Thoroughly complete the yearly chapter officer and financial reports and submit prior to the spring deadline, April 1st. This is vital so your chapter can receive their yearly check (when applicable).

3. Elect officers. Be sure the officers are current members of NAON. Be sure to reflect their names and current email addresses on your reports.

4. Plan ahead so that your meetings run smoothly and your content is approved. In order for a Chapter to maintain active status, you must have a minimum of six hours of education per calendar year.

5. Periodically search the NAON Web site for ongoing updates and clinical information.

6. Check your chapter roster online to be sure it includes all of your members. If anyone is a member-at-large (MAL) they can fill out the form located in Chapter Resources section of the Web site.

7. Check out your online Chapter Directory. Inform your CAT Representative if anything is incorrect. We can also add a link in that area to your local Web site (when applicable).

8. Fill out a Willingness to Serve Form. We’re looking for great leaders

9. Stop by our booth at Congress or invite us to one of your meetings. We’d love to meet you face-to-face or even via teleconference.

10. Let us know how we can help your Chapter! We’re here to serve you.  Click here for or a listing of current NAON CAT Reps.
