Leadership Search Committee Update

By Jane E. Smith, MSN, RN, ONC
Leadership Search Committee-Chairperson

The Leadership Search Committee has had a busy summer working on completing the 2010 Ballot.  Interviews that were not completed at Congress were scheduled after the June 30, 2009 deadline for candidate packet submission.  All interviews were completed prior to the end of July and final packet reviews were completed by the beginning of August.  The Executive Board ratified the ballot as part of their September Board Meeting.

Membership will have an opportunity to learn about each candidate in an upcoming issue of NAON News.  The online vote for the 2010-2011 ballot will begin the first week of January 2010.  All NAON members in good standing will be eligible to vote for candidates.

The process of having potential candidate interviews at Congress worked very well this year and will most likely continue next year as the LSC begins work on the 2011 ballot.  Volunteers are needed for committees, Special Interest Groups, and yes, even elected office.  Please consider completing a Willingness to Serve Form to help NAON move into the future.  Remember, NAON’s search for leaders occurs year-round, not just at Congress.  If you are interested, fill out your WTSF and contact the LSC today!
