Nursing Leaders Discuss Health Care Reform with White House Reps

Last month, NAON President Marj Kulesa joined over 1,000 other nursing organization leaders and nurses for an American Nurses Association-sponsored conference call to discuss the current state of health care reform.

Senior Advisor to the President Valerie Jarrett and Director of the White House Office on Health Reform Nancy-Ann DeParle participated in the call and answered questions and provided information on various components of proposed health care reform initiatives.  They encouraged the nursing community to continue to ask questions and dialogue with individual U.S. Senate and Congress representatives via public@who.eop.gov or through the ANA’s e-mail at: gova@ana.org or their website.

With Congress back in session, now is a crucial time to stand up and have your voice be heard.  Most Members of Congress are seeking input from their constituents to “take the temperature” on health care reform.  It’s not too late to take part!  To find a town hall near you simply click here and enter your zip code.

No town halls in your area?  Make a call or schedule a visit to your Representative or Senator’s district office. The ANA has created a “Tool Kit” where you can find more information to help you get involved.
