CHAPTER ADVISORY TEAM UPDATE
Greetings Chapter Presidents, leaders, and members,
The Chapter Advisory Team is busy at work contacting you one final time to provide a report to the NAON Board before NAON Congress in San Jose. The information obtained from you assists the NAON Board in making decisions that ensures strengthening the state of the organization.
Your annual chapter reports were due to your CAT representative and the NAON office April 1, 2008. If you have not submitted your reports please do so.
I personally want to thank you for serving as a Chapter President, as a chapter leader, and as a member of your local chapter. The ability to network, enhance your skills, broaden your knowledge base, and create a sense of belonging are perks of being chapter members. Chapter officers, thank all those members of your chapter for belonging. Members of the chapter, please thank your officers for their service to you and the organization. The work that is done to maintain a chapter is above and beyond their busy work and home lives and can be taxing.
Will we see you at Congress in San Jose? Registration is still open. As a Chapter President you should have received an invitation to the Leadership Conference on Saturday, May 17th, 2008 which will focus on Chapter Leadership and activities. If you have not received this invitation please contact the NAON office at 1-800-289-6266 for more information.
The CAT representatives also invite you to stop at our CAT booth in the exhibit hall to visit with your representative, learn to navigate the Web site for information, and register to win a prize. See you there!
Let me introduce another CAT member Robert Lonadier, from the SE Region…..
“I have been an Orthopaedic Nurse since getting out of school 11 years ago. I started out on the med/surg floor at Trinity West in Rock Island, Illinois but drifted to the busy Orthopaedic side of the Unit. In 1999, 21 of us took the Certification exam and I became an ONC. I was a member at large for several years but was looking for a way to become involved in NAON. After moving back to Florida and working at Ocala Regional Medical Center for 2 years I was offered the position of Clinical Coordinator of Orthopaedics. Within the first month I started a local NAON Chapter, the Horse Capital Chapter #208. We began an annual conference that has over 200 attendees and have had several members get their ONC. I have found it is great to be a member of a local Chapter. Belonging makes it easier to share ideas and to get involved. I also love wounds and am a wound VAC expert at our Hospital. I’m starting my 2nd year as a recertification reviewer for the ONCB. I have been married to my beautiful wife Sonja for 14 years who is a Chiropractic Physician and who also home schools our 3 children who are 7, 6 and 3. Outside of work, I coach the kids’ sports teams, am involved at church, and work with the homeless. In my free time you cannot find me because I’m somewhere deep in the woods hunting.”

eCongress, a selection of 3 new courses, will be available to Congress registrants very soon! This selection of courses will be accessible online through the NAON Web site and will consist of 2 courses with a clinical focus and 1 course that provides an insider’s look at getting the most out of your Congress experience.
