EDUCATION UPDATE

Changes are coming to the online courses! National Office staff is excited to announce that technological upgrades and new opportunities will soon be available to NAON members.

eCongress, a selection of 3 new courses, will be available to Congress registrants beginning in March. This selection of courses will be accessible online through the NAON Web site and will consist of 2 courses with a clinical focus and 1 course that provides an insider’s look at getting the most out of your Congress experience. Each participant will earn contact hours for completing each course. National Office staff will notify registrants when these courses are available in March.

Additionally, we are upgrading our online courses to reflect an easier user interface and better response time for NAON users. Beginning in June, most NAON online courses will be accessible directly through the NAON Web site at www.orthonurse.org and users will be able to print their own certificates immediately after completing the post-test. In addition, users will no longer need a separate access code or username and password to access the course!

We anticipate that these changes will make the online courses easier and more user-friendly for participants. Stay tuned for more information!

Reports Due April 1st!

Included here is a "How To" guide for completing the annual reports for your Chapter's status and health in 2007. All forms are due to the National Office (jdaniels@smithbucklin.com) and your CAT Representative no later than April 1, 2008. New IRS Reporting in 2008

Due to changes in the IRS reporting requirements for 2008 for activity in 2007, all tax-exempt organizations are required to complete Form 990. Though the Form 990 is not included here, completing both tabs of the Financial Report will provide all the data you will need to complete the 990. All Chapters must complete this form in order to maintain tax-exempt status. No Chapter will be covered under a NAON group exemption.
