NATIONAL OFFICE UPDATE

  • If you have not yet completed and submitted the officer roster for 2008-2009 information might not make it to your Chapter. If your Chapter submitted the new officer roster, check the online directory to verify the contact information listed. Those Chapters who did not submit a new roster will be contacted in the coming weeks. The Officer Roster form can be found at www.orthonurse.org > Chapters > Annual Reports.

  • Chapter Resource Binders have been shipped out to Chapter presidents who were not able to attend the Chapter Leadership session at Congress. If yours hasn't arrived in another week, please contact the National Office for tracking information.

  • Use your NAON Membership Benefits to Save! NAON is partnering with Tafford Uniforms to provide sales and discounts for NAON members. This is a great way to save on scrubs for your unit, chapter or yourself! Visit the NAON Membership Center or Chapter pages and click on the Tafford advertisement to start saving today!

  • To access an MAL roster for your state it's as easy as the Online Member Directory's Advanced Search and 1-2-3!
    1. Login using your Chapter login information
    2. Click Member Directory & Select Advanced search
    3. Select "Exact Criteria" - Chapter: MAL - State: your own
The list you'll get can be exported to a spreadsheet and is the most up to date record of current NAON members. You can access this list as often as you have need. If you have any questions, the National Office staff is happy to help.

EDUCATION UPDATE

ONC Review Course

Please note that NAON has made exciting upgrades and improvements to the ONC Review Course beginning August 1, 2008. Both scheduling and costs have been streamlined, and the content has been updated from 2007. To learn more or to begin planning for your course please visit www.orthonurse.org > Certification > Orthopaedic Review Course.

2009 Congress

Thank you to those who submitted presentation proposals for the 29th Annual Congress in Tampa, FL. All submitters will receive their decision via email in August. NAON is still accepting proposals for Poster Presentations! Please go to http://orthonurseam.prod.web.sba.com/callpapers/CallLogin.cfm?conference_id=5 to submit.

Changes are coming to the online courses!

NAON is upgrading our online courses to reflect an easier user interface and better response time for NAON users, that is - more user friendly! Beginning later this summer, most NAON online courses will be accessible directly through the NAON Web site at www.orthonurse.org and users will be able to print their own certificates immediately after completing the post-test. In addition, you will no longer need a separate access code or username and password to access the course!

We anticipate that these changes will make the online courses easier and more user-friendly for participants. Stay tuned for more information!

NAON LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Are you considering a volunteer position at the national level?

There are a variety of ways to get involved with NAON's Committees and Task Forces, as a Special Interest Group Facilitator, or on the NAON Executive Board. Please visit www.orthonurse.org > About NAON > Become a NAON Leader for more information regarding the positions available and qualifications.

Take a few moments to submit a Willingness to Serve Form to express your interest in NAON Committees and leadership positions. The Leadership Search Committee is excited to seek out new volunteers for the next committee cycle or talk with you if you are just considering it for now.
