CHAPTER ADVISORY TEAM UPDATES
Dear Chapter Presidents, leaders, and members,
If you attended Congress, have you recovered from the trip? Are you rejuvenated with all the information, education, and networking? Or has it been "nose to the grindstone" since you returned to work and Congress is now a distant memory?
New Chapter officers should now have taken on their leadership roles. Past Chapter officers should be "passing the reins" so to speak. If you need assistance the Leadership Chapter Manual has the information you need to make the hand-off go smoothly.
There are changes within the Chapter Advisory Team (CAT) representatives so I will continue to introduce the new members to you in the forthcoming letters.
Most chapters take the summer months off during this time. Please note, CAT representatives will be making contact to continue with their board reports during the summer. Please go to the NAON Web site www.orthonurse.org and ensure your contact information is correct. If not, please revise the information in your Profile. This directly changes the contact information at the National Office also. Also, please check your email settings to allow the contacts to come through from your CAT representative and the NAON office.
Have a great Fourth of July!!
Sincerely,
Julie Twiss, RN, BSN, ONC

You can submit them online at www.orthonurse.org > Continuing Education & Conferences > Speaker Resource Center Deadline for submission is June 23, 2008. Changes are coming to the online courses!
NAON is upgrading our online courses to reflect an easier user interface and better response time for NAON users, that is - more user friendly! Beginning later this summer, most NAON online courses will be accessible directly through the NAON Web site at www.orthonurse.org and users will be able to print their own certificates immediately after completing the post-test. In addition, you will no longer need a separate access code or username and password to access the course!
We anticipate that these changes will make the online courses easier and more user-friendly for participants. Stay tuned for more information!

CONGRESS 2008 RECAP
Chapter Leadership Development Conference
Did your representative attend this Saturday afternoon session? Each attendee received a binder full of information and references for leading your NAON Chapter toward further successes. If your Chapter wasn't able to send a representative, the 2008-2009 Chapter President will receive the same binder via mail in the coming weeks.
CAT @ Congress
Did you stop by to visit the Chapter Advisory Team's booth and enter the drawing for a (stuffed) cat? The NAON CAT was available in the exhibit hall for your questions or just to meet the committee that connects your Chapter with the NAON Executive Board.
The CAT also hosted an education session on "Building & Maintaining Your NAON Chapter". If you missed the session or attended and have more questions, contact your CAT Representative or the National Office.
Check the next issue of NAON News for an article from NE CAT Representative, Dimple Sanvicente!

NAON LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Are you considering a volunteer position at the national level?
There are a variety of ways to get involved with NAON's Committees and Task Forces, as a Special Interest Group Facilitator, or on the NAON Executive Board. Please visit www.orthonurse.org > About NAON > Become a NAON Leader for more information regarding the positions available and qualifications.
Take a few moments to submit a Willingness to Serve Form to express your interest in NAON Committees and leadership positions. The Leadership Search Committee is excited to seek out new volunteers for the next committee cycle or talk with you if you are just considering it for now.
