Orthopaedic Pain Management Review Course (2017)

NAON’s Orthopaedic Pain Management Review Course is an online course that tests your pain management knowledge and provides you with the most current and up to date information on managing the pain of orthopaedic patients. The 2017 revision is streamlined into 3 sections:

  • Section 3: Medication Administration and Patient Safety Considerations for Orthopaedic Nurses
    • Assessing pain
    • Pain control – prevention, management, and dosing regimens
    • Definitions and examples of multimodal therapy
    • Patient controlled analgesia
    • Review transdermal opioids
    • Learn to manage adverse effects of opioids
    • Review local anesthetics
    • Nursing implications and considerations

Earn 3.6 Category A Contact Hours by reviewing the entire course and completing the section post-tests and the online evaluation. This course is also eligible for Pharmacology hours.

Course duration: Once launched, the learner will have 270 days / 9 months to complete all modules and the evaluation.
