I work on a Joint Replacement Center, that normally operates Monday-Friday. We do approximately 450 Joint Replacements/year.
We have a core staff which consists of a nurse navigator, 5 staff nurses and 2 techs.
Just like everyone else, when COVID-19 stopped all elective procedures, our unit closed. We have all been working elsewhere in hospital, but most of us have become “COVID Queens”. It’s nothing like what we normally do, but we are nurses and we are here to help whoever/however we can.
Not going to lie...... hope we can get back to Bone Business real soon.
