The webinar will introduce the United States Bone and Joint Initiative (USBJI) and share recent work that has been done in the area of patient disease management education. The speaker, Tamara Huff, MD, Orthopaedic Surgeon, will highlight the availability of new programs on arthritis, and on fracture prevention and osteoporosis. Both programs will have been recently upgraded. After sharing specifics on patient disease management education, Dr. Huff will discuss the changes and new elements incorporated into the two programs. Experts in Arthritis has been revised to include a greater emphasis on pain, and on fatigue. The program Fit to a T (bone health/osteoporosis) now places greater emphasis on people at highest risk for osteoporosis, and on fall prevention. Both programs bring greater audience engagement in their presentation. The educational materials are available to NAON members and can be utilized for patient and community education.
