Description:

There is commonality amongst the characteristics and scope of practice of the Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Advanced Practice Nurse(APN) role and practice internationally in terms of education, practice standard and regulation and operation variability. The NP role has been implemented internationally and at least 70 countries are considering some form of APN role. NPs provide advance clinical care and were implemented as part of health service reform to improve access and timeliness of healthcare. The presentation will compare the similarities of the NP/APN in two different health care models in the USA and Australia.
