The benefits of volunteering are endless! There are numerous organizations that exist to enhance the lives of orthopaedic patients that are always in need of volunteers. Learn more about available opportunities and ways to get involved below. 

LIMBS International

LIMBS International engages communities and transforms lives through affordable, sustainable prosthetic solutions in developing countries. LIMBS International strives everyday to give people hope and a new chance at life.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are volunteer opportunities available in the El Paso, Texas region (home of the LIMBS headquarters), throughout the state of Texas, and around the world.

El Paso opportunities include, event preparation and execution; graphic design, marketing, and outreach; working with public and private schools on outreach and awareness; becoming a LIMBS Ambassador. LIMBS Ambassadorships involve spreading the word about LIMBS' mission and raising awareness for amputees around the world. 

Internationally, there are opportunities for prosthetic and professionals in specialized areas, such as physical therapists.

Operation Walk

Operation Walk is a volunteer medical humanitarian organization that provides the gift of mobility through life-changing joint replacement surgeries at no cost for those in need in the U.S. and globally. 

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities include surgeons, physical therapists, internal medicine doctors, post op nurses, emergency room nurses, recovery room nurses and other positions for international surgical missions.

Experts in Arthritis

The United States Bone and Joint Initiative (USBJI) hosts free public education seminars for people with arthritis and people who care about them.

This program offers people with arthritis the opportunity to be informed about current scientific evidence and management strategies in the treatment and care of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile arthritis.

Volunteer Opportunities

Help the folks in your community keep their bones and joints healthy, self-manage their arthritis, and prevent fractures! USBJI offers two free public education sessions they are always looking for volunteers to present: Experts in Arthritis and Fit to a T.
