 Bylaw Amendments Receive Membership Approval

NAON members approved a series of bylaw amendments introduced by the Executive Board in September.  The proposed amendments and links to the vote page were distributed in NAON News, which was sent electronically on Sept. 22.  Two e-mail reminders also were sent to membership announcing the proposed amendments, and contained links to the vote page.  When the vote closed on Oct. 13, over 300 votes had been cast.  Seventy-five percent of those who voted cast a “yes” vote for the amendments.

The revised NAON Bylaws  have been posted on the members’ only section (you will need your member ID number and password to view the Bylaws). Members are encouraged to contact any member of the NAON Executive Board with questions or comments.

CE Application Changes

As of January 31, 2010, all approver unit applications must be submitted online. Paper applications will no longer be accepted after January 31 as NAON continues its efforts to "go green". Updates will be made to the online application process to enhance its user friendliness by the end of January.

Radiology Review

New Case (11/12/2009): The patient is a 40 year-old male who fell skiing yesterday and landed on his left knee. He had pain and swelling and inability to walk on his left leg.  He states that he cannot extend his left knee at all due to severe pain. He is referred to the ortho clinic the next day. Physical examination is limited due to the patient's pain. There is a large effusion and he hold the knee in approximately 25-30 degrees of flexion.  X-rays are negative for fracture. An MRI scan was ordered for further evaluation.
