June President's Message

My Fellow NAON Members,

As my first President’s Message, I want to thank all of you who attended our 45th Annual Congress in Orlando May 17-19,2025. We had over 500 people in attendance, and you helped make Congress a huge success! Thank you to our Education Committee, our presenters, our vendors and sponsors and our fantastic team at Stringfellow Management Group. Without all of you it would not have been possible. If you came this year, I look forward to seeing you at next year’s Congress. If you didn’t make it this year, I want to invite you to join us next year! Be on the lookout for podium and poster submissions information coming in the next couple of days. We are wrapping up details and should have our dates and location finalized very soon.

Fitting with my theme this year of GROW the Future, I want to invite you to be a significant part of our growth as an organization this year. I would like to ask you to do two things. First, I would like to ask you to become involved in a committee or in helping form a Special Interest Group. You can find out more information about opportunities and complete a Willingness to Serve Form here.

Second, I would also like to ask you to invite someone you know to become a member of NAON. You may ask, “Why should I do that?” I know that you have relationships with other nurses working in orthopaedics that do not know about NAON or the opportunities that are available for education (including Congress) or involvement. If you have benefited from being a part of NAON, why not share the opportunity with another person? If each one of us as members invited a new member, we could double the size of our association in a year and grow our base of knowledge and expertise. Without member growth we lose opportunities to meet new people and learn from their experience, and they lose an opportunity to learn from us.

Will you help GROW the Future of NAON?

Matt Lowe, MDiv, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, ONC
