Social Determinants of Health: The Orthopaedic Nurses Role in Promoting Health Equity and Improving Patient Outcomes

The Future of Nursing 2020-2030 report recognizes the nurse’s role and potential impact on the medical and social factors of patient health outcomes. Social determinants of health (SDoh) include health-related social needs (HRSN); and social, economic, and environmental factors. During this session, attendees will learn about the impact of SDoH on orthopaedic patients’ outcomes, and how to screen for SDoH to mitigate complications and care transition issues.
