Reactivation option: A way to regain your certification
Missed the deadline to recertify? ONCB offers a reactivation option for nurses who were not able to complete the required continuing education before their credential expiration date. In order to qualify to reactivate, a nurse’s credential must have expired within the past 2 years. This one-time option allows applicants to pay the reactivation fee, provide required continuing education (15 Category A contact hours per year or part of a year, up to 30 total for ONCs; 20 Category A contact hours per year or part of a year, up to 40 total for ONP-Cs and OCNS-Cs), briefly describe a professional development plan…and regain their orthopaedic nursing certification! Learn more on the ONCB website.
