Autum Wellness Tips

Autumn Wellness Tips to get you ready for the colder months (we hope) and keep your total health in check. Happy Fall!

  1. Take some time for yourself.  A feel journal is a great way to track your moods.
  2. Get your flu shot and yearly check-up.
  3. Boost immune system. Water, washing hands often, eat nutritious foods, and Vitamin D
  4. Daylight Savings Time. Longer periods of darkness = longer periods of sleep!
  5. Make some plans for the cooler months. Stay busy and avoid hibernation.
  6. Moisturize your skin. Harsh temperatures can make skin dry. Wear sunscreen.
  7. Buy in-season food. Beets, broccoli, cabbage, eggplant, kale, pumpkin, broths, roasted squash, roots and sautéed dark leafy greens are all great choices.
  8. Stay active! Get some movement through the day. Rake leaves, shovel snow, or go for walks!
  9. Wear clothes for the temperature. Gloves, scarf, a winter coat, socks, and boots for yall up north and here in Texas we will be wearing shorts til late October!
  10. “Spring cleaning” in the fall. Clean out closet, organize and purge things you don’t need.
  11. Prepare home for weather conditions. Flashlights and batteries? Heaters? Bottled water?
  12. Get some books to read and shows to watch. How about a good book or binging Netflix?
  13. Keep a schedule. Stay on track by scheduling time to do things you like to do.
  14. Be kind to yourself. Listen to your body and give it what it needs! Change negative thoughts into positive ones.

Have a wonderful fall season and bring on the pumpkin spice!!!
