Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
As a member-only benefit, NAON Special Interest Groups (SIGs) provide valuable networking, collaboration, and educational opportunities for orthopaedic nurses and allied health professionals with shared clinical interests, practice settings, or professional roles. SIGs connect members with colleagues who face similar challenges and opportunities, fostering the exchange of knowledge, best practices, resources, and innovative approaches to patient care. Whether your focus is clinical practice, leadership, education, research, care coordination, or a specialized patient population, NAON SIGs offer a community of peers dedicated to advancing excellence in orthopaedic nursing and musculoskeletal health care.
Nurse Navigators
The Nurse Navigator role coordinating patient care on an interdisciplinary team continues to evolve in the healthcare environment. Nurse Navigators work in joint specific settings, as well as in the hospital or ambulatory care facilities. In addition to coordinating patient care, Nurse Navigators demonstrate expertise in clinical practice, patient education, staff education, research, data, marketing, patient management, and acting as a clinical liaison.
