Share with ONCB and Win a Free Recertification!
In honor of International Orthopaedic Nurses Day on October 30, we want to know why you became certified. Send ONCB (oncb@oncb.org) a short video (maximum 30 seconds) by October 30, on what motivated you to pursue certification and you will be entered to win a free recertification! Winners will be announced in November and your video may be featured on our Facebook page!
Reactivation Option: A Way to Regain Your Certification
Time can definitely get ahead of us! Well-meaning certificants may not be able to complete the required continuing education before their credential expiration date. ONCB offers a reactivation option for nurses whose credential expired within the past 2 years. This one-time option allows applicants to pay the current exam fee, provide required continuing education (15 Category A contact hours per year or part of a year, up to 30 total for ONCs; 20 Category A contact hours per year or part of a year, up to 40 total for ONP-Cs and OCNS-Cs), briefly describe a professional development plan…and regain their orthopaedic nursing certification! The reactivation application and policy are available on the ONCB website (https://www.oncb.org/reactivation/).
BONEafide FREE Ortho CE List
Visit ONCB’s website (https://www.oncb.org/freeorthoce/) to view continuing education activities that ONCB has identified as suitable for Category A credit toward recertification. Our list contains approximately 20 Category A contact hours. Some of the activities may have expiration dates that are beyond the influence of ONCB. We encourage you to review the list soon and create a personal timeline to complete the activities based on any expiration date.
