An Attitude of Gratitude
As we come closer to the holidays, many feel gratitude for family, friends and all the wonderful things, but how can we make this last all year long?
Being grateful-
- Helps you acknowledge the goodness in your life
- Can connect you with something bigger than yourself
- Positive emotions can improve health, lower blood pressure, and cortisol
- Gratitude can help build strong relationships
- The is “no negative side effects of feeling gratitude!”
How can you build up an attitude of gratitude?
- Write or say thank you- express appreciation to anyone and everyone; it's free!
- Thank your loved ones each day- even in your heart can bring joy
- Journal- gratitude a day keeps the boos away; count your blessings
- Mindfulness meditation or prayer- take note of the air we breathe and our ability to choose gratitude!
- Seeing the good and acknowledging the source of good- not always just trying to fix what we don’t like!
- Thank yourself! Be compassionate to yourself like you would your best friend
I hope everyone has a wonderful, peaceful Thanksgiving full of laughter and gratitude!
