Part 1 of NAON’s Orthopaedic Trauma Course offers self-guided education to the orthopaedic nurse for current trauma approaches and implications for nursing care. Topics discussed include blunt, blast, and crush type trauma injuries. A robust section discusses traumatic spine injuries. Acute complications seen in trauma patients are outlines, along with pharmacology recommendations. Throughout the course, there are assessment questions to check your knowledge. This course could be used for certification study for the ONC or ONP-C, as well as a nurse who practices in a trauma setting.
The learner will earn 1.5 Category A contact hours following successful completion of this course. The learner must view all content, answer required questions, and submit an online evaluation to successfully complete the activity. Only after all requirements are met will a CNE certificate be issued.
