We are pleased to announce the recipients of the NAON and ONCB Exam Prep Products Scholarship, a joint program supporting orthopaedic nurses preparing for certification with key study resources and practice examinations.

  • ONC Exam Prep Products Scholarship Recipient:

Summer Time!!

Hopefully everyone is able to take a break from life and enjoy some summer. ANA provides many suggestions for how anyone can change their life. A good quality of life can look different for everyone. Here are some tips:

  1. Spend time in nature- reconnect, go for a walk
  2. You can be social, but it is ok to say no when you need
  3. Connect with someone you love- connect with the most important people
  4. Find or develop a hobby you enjoy- explore a new skill
  5. Prioritize quality sleep- regulates hormones, mood, and energy
  6. Healthy balanced diet- fruit vegetables, minimize processed foods
  7. Avoid deprivation- enjoy food without being strict, health balance
  8. Drink water- carry water during day in a reusable bottle
  9. Get some sun- enjoy some Vitamin D, spend time outside each day
  10. Move your body every day- strengthen muscles, morning walk
  11. Take it easy on the alcohol- everything in moderation
  12. Live in the moment- be present, focus on here and now
  13. Meditate- guided meditation for 10minutes, listen to sounds or watch thoughts “float” by
  14. Plan your time- avoid overscheduling, some structure and routine can be helpful, plan downtime
  15. Transform living space- organize, donate unnecessary stuff that may be weighing you down
  16. Practice gratitude- make a “thankful” list
  17. Laugh- watch a funny movie or join friends for a giggle, laughing lowers stress level
  18. Get away- change of scenery can be a stimulant for the mind
  19. Be true to yourself- listen to your gut
  20. Minimize social media- comparing yourself or worrying about others can decrease quality of life

Hopefully one of these tips were of interest and provide a spark to improve your quality of life!
