Exam Prep Products Scholarship The Exam Prep Products Scholarship is jointly sponsored by NAON and ONCB. This scholarship is specifically for orthopaedic nursing certification preparation materials to assist those seeking ONC® or ONP-C® certification. The individual awarded the ONC scholarship award will receive one copy of the current Core Curriculum for Orthopaedic Nursing, courtesy of NAON, and a bundle of five online ONC practice examinations provided by ONCB. The individual awarded the ONP-C scholarship award will receive the OONP Online Review Course, courtesy of NAON, and a bundle offive online ONP-C practice exams provided by ONCB. To promote the value of certification and NAON membership, awards are available only to non-certified NAON members. This scholarship isawarded to one individual pursuing the ONC® certification and one individual pursuing ONP-C® certification. The deadline to apply is May 1st. Learn more about the scholarship.

NAON Foundation

The Gigi Viellion Scholarship

Purpose
To advance orthopaedic nursing practice through the integration of evidence-based knowledge into practice. This scholarship is in honor of Gigi Viellion for her long time commitment to orthopaedic nursing, NAON, and the NAON Foundation.

Scholarship
The Scholarship provides $ 1500 -2000 for an Orthopaedic Evidence-Based Practice Project that will benefit Orthopaedic nursing. The Scholarship will cover potential project costs of supplies and project conduction, staff, and statistical analysis. The amount of the Scholarship will be based on needed funding for the project along with other sources of funding identified.

Eligibility  

  1. Must be a NAON member
  2. Must have a minimum of 3 years in orthopaedic nursing practice
  3. Must have a minimum of a BSN (required) but a Master’s in nursing preferred
  4. Must have demonstrated leadership responsibilities for evidence-based practice
  5. Must select orthopaedic related EBP topic/project

Expectation of Recipients
As a condition of receiving this scholarship it is required, that within 18 months the candidate will contribute to NAON in one of the following ways.  

  1. Present a session at a NAON Congress sharing the EBP project.                         
  2. Submit an article on the EBP project for publication in Orthopaedic Nursing
  3. Present a poster at a NAON Congress sharing the EBP project

One of the NAON Foundation Trustees will be assigned to support and encourage the candidate through the completion of this requirement.

2026 Virtual Own the Bone Symposium
