March President's Message

As we approach our 46th Annual NAON Congress, I hope your excitement is building. I know that mine is growing day by day. It has been my great pleasure to lead our association during this last year and to be a part of advancing our mission. Our theme for this Annual Congress is GROW the Future and it is one of the best ways for NAON members to participate in that theme. The learning opportunities offered at Congress are great places to get up to date information and practices across the orthopaedic nursing landscape. Hearing about protocols and processes that have helped other members and their patients is a great benefit. The greater part of that is being able to talk with them outside of the session to make connections and discuss how to implement those ideas in your own facility and practice. Seeing the different poster presentations also provides a place to spur new ideas and make connections. Visiting with our exhibitors offers insights into new products and services that benefit orthopaedic patients.

Networking is another crucial aspect of Congress. Having the opportunity to meet people you haven’t met before and ask them about where they are from and what brought them to NAON Congress is a crucial part of getting the most out of your attendance.

If it will be your first time attending NAON Congress I would love to connect with you and chat. Please feel free to stop me in the hallway or in the Joint Connection during the Congress. If you are a long time member and a return attendee please feel free to do the same. My hope is that you will find our 46th Annual Congress a special time of learning and connections.  Hope to see you in Orlando!!
