Happy National Nurses Month – Learn More about ONCB’s White Paper!

May is National Nurses Month a time to recognize the continued dedication and extraordinary impact of nurses. At ONCB, we know nurses are critical to patient care, and we would like to take a moment to honor your vital contributions and dedication. As seen in ONCB’s latest White Paper (link to: https://www.oncb.org/about-oncb/research-white-paper/), 96% of certified orthopaedic nurses say certification enhances personal accomplishment and 97.3% say certification represents professional growth, showing the importance of certification. As certified nurses, you have taken a step further in expressing your clinical excellence and holding yourself to the highest standard of patient care. Celebrate National Nurses Month with the ONCB Certification Toolkit (https://www.oncb.org/oncb-toolkit/).

Not certified? Visit the ONCB website {link to: https://www.oncb.org/certifications/} to learn how you can become certified.

Introducing the Voucher Program

ONCB now offers the Voucher Program (link to: https://www.oncb.org/oncb-voucher-program/) for facilities that would like an easy way to bulk purchase ONC® or ONP-C® Exams to cover the exam fees for their nurses. By covering exam fees through vouchers, organizations can actively support nurses pursuing ONCB certification, which strengthens clinical expertise and the quality of orthopaedic care across the team! Vouchers may also be used in conjunction with ONCB’s Retest for Success program (link to: https://www.oncb.org/retestforsuccess/), providing additional flexibility and support for candidates pursuing certification.

Want to learn more about the Voucher Program? Attend the upcoming Voucher Program Office Hours (link to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HWLDRRQ) hosted by ONCB May 19th at 5 PM ET and May 21st at 12 PM ET.

Recertification Deadline Approaching

For nurses who are due to recertify in 2026, recertification applications are due June 30, 2026. In need of Category A credit? ONCB is here to help! Check out BONEafide (link to: https://www.oncb.org/freeorthoce/), a list of continuing education activities identified by ONCB as suitable for Category A. Be sure to bookmark this page as the list if updated throughout the year.
