August President's Message
Dear NAON Members,
As August transitions into September, many of our members and their families are experiencing the excitement and challenges that come with a new school year. Whether you are returning to the classroom, supporting children or grandchildren, or mentoring the next generation of orthopedic nurses, this season reminds us of the importance of lifelong learning and professional growth.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2026 NAON Annual Business Meeting on August 19. For members who were unable to attend, the meeting was recorded and will be posted in the Members Section of the NAON website in the coming weeks, ensuring all members have the opportunity to stay informed about the important work of our association.
I would also like to recognize the members of NAON’s Education Committee, who are currently reviewing Congress proposal submissions. The submission period closed on August 12, 2026, and a tremendous amount of time, expertise, and thoughtful consideration goes into evaluating each proposal. Their dedication helps ensure a high-quality educational experience for Congress attendees and supports the continued advancement of orthopedic nursing practice.
Additionally, we are pleased to see strong engagement from members as candidates actively apply for open Board positions. This willingness to serve reflects the strength of our organization and the commitment of our members to shaping NAON's future.
Thank you for your continued involvement, leadership, and dedication to orthopedic nursing. Together, we continue to strengthen our profession and our association.
